NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—CSUN returns from the road after three games to host the University of Hawai'i in Big West Conference women's basketball action Saturday afternoon. Coverage on ESPN+ and GoMatadors.com/Radio begins at 2 p.m. with Jill Painter Lopez on the call.

Hawai'i fell 65-51 to UC Santa Barbara Thursday night. The Rainbow Wahine are 7-8 overall, 3-2 in Big West play. Hawai'i's loss at UCSB dropped Hawai'i to 1-5 on the road this season.

Current Big West Player of the Week Amy Atwell was limited to nine points at UC Santa Barbara, 9.5 below her season average per game. She is the Big West leader in scoring, second in three-point field goals per game (2.1), third in field goal shooting (43.6), third in free throw percentage (81.5), and ninth in rebounding (5.8). Atwell has been named Big West Player of the Week three times this season and just went over the 1,000-career point plateau last week against CSU Bakersfield in Honolulu.

Saturday is the 23rd time that CSUN and Hawai'i are playing women's basketball with the all-time series tied at 11.

The Matadors (6-10, 2-4 Big West) dropped a 61-54 decision at UC Santa Barbara Tuesday night. CSUN led 46-45 with just over six minutes remaining before an 8-0 UCSB run helped the Gauchos gain the upper hand.

Jordyn Jackson led four Matadors in double figures with 14 points. Anaiyah Tu'ua posted 12 points, five rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Tess Amundsen scored 11 points with Kayanna Spriggs adding 10.

UC Santa Barbara was 24-of-27 from the free throw line, compared to 8-of-12 for the Matadors. CSUN held the Gauchos to 35.4% (17-of-48) shooting. The Matadors went 36.8% (21-of-57) from the field. CSUN outrebounded UCSB 36-34, 16-12 on the offensive glass.
