ACCORDING TO COACH TRENT JOHNSON
"I thought we got off to a good start in terms of our defensive effort. Then we got a little comfortable. We played a lot of guys, and we made the decision to give a lot of guys an opportunity early. I thought La Sierra does a good job of spreading you. We had a quickness advantage, but they did a really good job of making us guard on the perimeter. We had a hard time guarding them without fouling, but for the most part, we needed that. Our post guys need to be out on the perimeter and move their feet. Again, it's always good when a lot of guys get an opportunity to play.
"Like I told them, you need to enjoy it. I think it's been a long time for this basketball team and program where we've won a game like that. But more importantly, everybody played in the first half. With all that being said, we're off tomorrow, we have to sit it on a video on Utah Tech, which is a very good basketball team. It's their home opener. It was probably one of our best wins last year here [against Utah Tech]."
UP NEXT
CSUN will play the next five games on the road starting with a Saturday night match-up with Utah Tech. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. PDT on ESPN+. Ghizal Hasan and Alan Zinsmeister have the call on GoMatadors.com/Radio.
