The Gauchos fell 70-60 to league-leader UC Irvine Monday night. UCSB is 11-5 overall, 4-2 in Big West play. UC Santa Barbara is tied for second in the conference with Long Beach State, UC San Diego, and Hawai'i.Â

The Gauchos' Ila Lane is the conference leader in rebounding (9.2) and field goal percentage (.535). She is seventh in scoring (12.9). Â

The Titans dropped a 64-48 decision at CSU Bakersfield on Monday night to fall to 7-9 overall, 2-5 in Big West play. Cal State Fullerton hosts Long Beach State on Thursday night before facing the Matadors.

The Titans feature the second and third leading scorers in the Big West in Fujika Nimmo (15.4) and Una Jovanovic (14.5). In addition, Ashlee Lewis is sixth in the league in rebounding (5.5).

CSUN defeated the Titans 69-59 on Dec. 31 to even the all-time series at 30-30.

CSUN guard Jordyn Jackson is nine points from scoring 1,000 in her career. Â

Jackson posted 15 points against Hawai'i on Jan. 16. She currently has scored 991 career points. Jackson is on pace to become the 14th Matador women's basketball player to score 1,000 points in a CSUN career.

Jackson has been successful at the free throw line this season. She made 29 in a row from the free throw line dating back to the Dec. 17 game against Santa Clara before missing an attempt against Cal State Fullerton. She has made 51 of her last 54 free throw attempts.Â

Against UC Davis on Jan. 11, Jackson made 11-of-12 free throw attempts. The 11 made free throws are the ninth most in a game by a Matador at the Division I level.

As of Jan. 16, she is shooting 86.1% (62-of-72) from the charity stripe, ranking her 58th in Division I.Â

Since the start of the new year, Jackson has played 187 of a possible 200 minutes. Jackson has appeared in 107 games for CSUN, starting 79.

The graduate student has moved to fifth in school history in career free throw percentage (.775), ninth in made three-pointers (111), and 10th in career field goal attempts (948).Â

As of Jan. 16, CSUN is 50th in Division I in three-point shooting at 34.8% and leads the Big West in the category. CSUN has made 79 three-pointers in 227 attempts this season.Â
