
Two CSUN Freshmen In Top-Seven; CSUN Third at Eagle Invitational

SPOKANE, Wash. - Freshmen Nicole Tanoue and Meghan Paracuelles are both in the top seven to lead the CSUN women's golf team into third place after two rounds of the Eagle Invitational Monday at Indian Canyon Golf Course.
The Matadors fired team rounds of 295 and 299 and are third in the 11-team field at 26-over 594. Weber State (578) holds the two-round lead followed by Idaho (580), CSUN, Portland State (598) and host Eastern Washington (598).
Tanoue had four birdies in round one and was 1-under after two holes. A bogey at No. 14 dropped her to even-par where she would remain until another bogey on her 12th hole dropped her to 1-over. But Tanoue would finish the round with a birdie and five pars to get to even-par for the round. She then added another birdie in round two before finishing at 3-over 74 to finish the day at 3-over 145.
Meghan Paracuelles had the best two rounds of her young career, finishing tied for seventh at 4-over 146. Paracuelles had one birdie in round one before adding three more in round two as she carded rounds of 74-72.

The Matadors will be paired with Weber State and Idaho for the final round which gets underway Tuesday morning beginning at 8:30 a.m.

CSUNÂ SCORES
- Following Tanoue and Paracuelles, Kim Turgut is also in the top 10 at 6-under 148 following rounds of 71-77. Turgut had a pair of birdies and 14 pars in the opening round.
- Gracie Piar is currently tied for 43rd at 13-over 155 following rounds of 79-76.
- Elle Laur is tied for 58th at 17-over 154 after posting scores of 80-79.
