- The two teams traded points to open the second set before Fullerton took a 10-9 lead. The visitors extended the run, scoring six of the next seven to open up a 16-11 lead. Trailing 19-12, the Matadors rallied back behind an 8-3 run to pull within 22-20. But a Fullerton kill and a CSUN attack error gave Fullerton the 25-21 win.Â
- The Titans jumped out to a 9-3 lead in the third set before the Matadors rallied back to within 11-10. CSUN then used a 3-1 lead to take its first lead of the set 13-12 following a Starkey ace. Still holding a 19-18 lead, the Matadors surrendered a 4-0 Titan run to put Fullerton up 22-19. Two more Titan kills then sealed the 25-22 win in set three.
- After leading by as many as eight at 15-7 lead in the fourth set, Fullerton saw the Matadors claw back to take a 23-22 lead on a Hunter kill. But the Matadors were outscored 4-1 over the final five points of the match as their season ended in a four-set loss.
