CSUN's Jamar Ricketts Invited to 2023 Adidas MLS College Showcase

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN Men's Soccer junior forward Jamar Ricketts was selected as one-of-44 invitees for the adidas MLS College Showcase.
The event is scheduled to be held in Phoeniz, Ariz. from Dec. 6-9. At the four-day showcase, technical staffs from every MLS club gain an opportunity to scout top collegiate prospects in the nation ahead of the MLS SuperDraft on Tuesday, Dec. 19. The 2023 adidas MLS College Showcase is a closed-door scouting event officially sanctioned by the NCAA. The eligible player list for MLS SuperDraft 2024 presented by adidas will be announced at a later date following the 2023 adidas MLS College Showcase.
Ricketts is coming off a career season for the Matadors where he earned All-Big West First Team and United Soccer Coaches All-Far West Region Second Team accolades. He would record a career-high eight goals, five assists and 21 points to go with 37 shots with 23 on goal. Ricketts posted a .622 shot on goal percentage, which ranked best in the nation as of Dec. 5.
During 2023, Ricketts scored five goals in Big West action, highlighted by a pair of game-winning goals. He also recorded his first career brace and was named a two-time Big West Offensive Player of the Week.
Originally from Montclair, N.J., Ricketts is a two-time All-Big West First Team selection along with a two-time all-region second team honoree. He has started and played in 55 career games in three seasons from 2021-23. In total, he has registered 16 goals, 10 assists and 42 points while posting a career .548 shot on goal percentage.
Ricketts is one of two Big West players to be invited to the 2023 adidas MLS College Showcase as Cal State Fullerton's Roberto Ordonez was the other Big West selection.
