With six games remaining in the regular season, As UC San Diego continues its transition to Division I and remains ineligible for the 2023 Hercules Tires Big West Basketball Championships, presented by The Hawaiian Islands, CSUN finds itself tied for the seventh seed tournament (4-10) with Cal Poly.

The top six teams earn a first-round bye, and the Matadors and Mustangs are one game back of Cal State Fullerton for the sixth seed. CSU Bakersfield and UC Riverside are one game behind CSUN and Cal Poly at 3-11.

The 2023 Hercules Tires Big West Basketball Championships, presented by The Hawaiian Islands, begins Mar. 7 at the Dollar Loan Center in Henderson, Nev.

JACKSON JOINS CSUN 1,000-POINT CLUB
CSUN guard Jordyn Jackson became the 14th Matador women's basketball player to score 1,000 career points on Jan. 21 at Cal State Fullerton. Jackson's 1000th point came at the 6:00 mark of the first quarter on a layup after she made a steal.

After scoring four points against CSU Bakersfield on Feb. 4, Jackson has recorded 1,068 career points. She is three points away from 13th place Tessa Boagni (2014-18). Jackson is eighth in the Big West in scoring (13.3).

Jackson has been successful at the free throw line this season. Against UC Davis on Jan. 11, Jackson made 11-of-12 free throw attempts. The 11 made free throws are the ninth most in a game by a Matador at the Division I level.

As of Feb. 4, she is shooting 87.6% (78-of-89) from the charity stripe, ranking her 24th in Division I.

The 5-4 grad student is ninth in the conference in steals per game (1.8) and ranks 225th in Division I to begin the week.

She is second on the team in assists with 70 and is ninth in the conference in category.

The graduate student has moved to fourth in school history in career free throw percentage (.787), eighth in made three-pointers (118), eighth in minutes played (3,094), 10th in career field goal attempts (1052), and 10th in career three-point field goal attempts (363).
