The Matadors (4-18, 3-8 Big West) host CSU Bakersfield on Thursday at 7 p.m. before traveling to Cal Poly on Saturday at 2 p.m.

CSU Bakersfield has lost four of its last five games, including a 56-42 defeat against UC San Diego last Saturday. The Roadrunners are 6-14 overall and are tied with CSUN, Cal Poly, and UC Riverside for seventh in the Big West with a 3-9 league mark.

Hennie van Schalk leads the 'Runners in scoring (10.5) and rebounding (7.0). Kayla Morris is the Big West leader in blocks at 2.3 per game (37 total).

Thursday will be the first time the Roadrunners and the Matadors are playing this season despite CSUN already completing the season series against Cal State Fullerton, UC Irvine, and UC Santa Barbara.

CSUB defeated CSUN 73-72 in overtime in the first round of the 2022 Big West Tournament in the last game between the two clubs. The Roadrunners lead the all-time series 7-3.

After defeating local rival UC Santa Barbara on the road last Thursday, Cal Poly fell 80-58 at Hawai'i on Saturday to fall to 6-14 on the season. Â

Annika Shah is the Mustangs' leader in scoring (10.4) and assists (55). In addition, Natalia Ackerman is averaging a team-high 5.4 rebounds per game.

The Matadors defeated the Mustangs 65-55 in Northridge on Dec. 29 to take a 44-40 all-time series lead.
