CSUN Annouces 2025 Spring Tennis Schedule

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN Women's Tennis head coach Gary Victor has released the Matadors' 2025 spring schedule which is set to kick off Friday, Jan. 17. The Matadors are set to play 12 home matches this season.

"This schedule is filled with top 75 in the nation teams (top 25% of all) and will prepare us for a loaded Big West conference," said Victor. "We will have to compete for everything. Our schedule will strengthen our resolve as we go deep into the season."

The Matadors open up the spring slate by playing in the annual Long Beach Winter Invite from Jan. 17-19. After that tournament, CSUN will then travel to the state of Hawai'i to take on the Rainbow Wahine and Hawai'i Pacific, from Jan 24-25.

The home-opener for the Matadors will be on January 30, as CSUN will host Westmont at the CSUN Tennis Complex. CSUN faced off against the Warriors in 2024, and won 4-0.

The Matadors then head on a quick road trip to Los Angeles for a matchup against LMU on Feb 2. Six days later, CSUN will host back-to-back home matchups against CalTech and Santa Clara Feb 8-9. The tennis team will then travel once more to face San Jose State and Dominican Feb 22-23.
CSUN returns home for its longest home stretch of the season from Feb. 28-Mar. 11, hosting Pacific (Feb 28), Youngstown State (Mar. 5), Fresno State (Mar. 9), and North Texas (Mar. 11).

The Matadors will then kick off with a slew of Big West bouts by traveling to UC Riverside on March 13, and Cal Poly on March 16. CSUN's Big West home matches in 2025 will be against UC Irvine on March 22, UC Davis on March 29, UCSB on April 4 and Cal State Fullerton on April 5. CSUN then will host Concordia for its final match of the five game homestand on April 10.

CSUN will then close out the regular season by traveling to UC San Diego for a conference match on April 19.

The 2025 Big West Tournament will take place in San Diego at Barnes Tennis Center from April 24-27th.

The Matadors are coming off a very strong 2024 campaign where they finished second in conference play, going 7-2 against Big West opponents. CSUN ended the season going 13-7 overall and 9-3 at home. Among the team highlights was CSUN beginning the season at 6-1 with impressive wins over UC Riverside, San Francisco and Santa Clara to kick off the campaign. The top singles performer for the 2024 season was Victoria Santibanez Luna, who went 11-6 in singles play to lead the team. Luna is returning for her redshirt senior year.
