Angela Ho and Nicole West Gear Up for ITA Sectional Championships
11/5/2025 12:30:00 PM | Women's Tennis
SEATTLE, Wash --- The CSUN women's tennis tandem of Angela Ho and Nicole West are set to compete at the 2025 ITA DI Women's West Sectional Championships hosted by the University of Washington, Thursday at 9:00 a.m. Ho and West were invited to compete based on their performance at the Southwest Regionals from October 16-21.
Â
In that tournament, the duo earned five wins in doubles play on the way to the first-ever ITA Southwest Regional Finals appearance by a CSUN team in its history. Ho and West defeated Long Beach State, Arizona, San Diego State, Arizona State and Hawai'i before ultimately falling to USC in the finals.
Â
CSUN is set to play the host school, the University of Washington, in the Round of 16 to begin the tournament. Ho and West will take on Anna-Marie Weissheim and Alexia Jacobs at Nordstrom Tennis Center. Weissheim is a junior from Itzehoe, Germany, who is a familar foe to the Matadors. She spent her last two seasons at UC Santa Barbara. Weissheim was part of a doubles team that dropped a doubles match to Yuliia Zhytelna and Madison Shepperson on April 4th.Â
Â
Jacobs is a junior from Calgary, Canada. Her highest accolade came last year when in her first doubles match of the season, she and her partner Reece Carter defeated the No. 1 doubles team in the country (Ange Oby Kajuru and Anastasiya Komar of Oklahoma State).
Â
If Ho and West were to win their round of 16 match, they would take on the winner of Stanford and Northern Arizona in the quarterfinals. That quarterfinal bout would take place on Friday.
