
Women's Soccer Honors CSUN Faculty on MVP Night

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - In the second MVP (Most Valuable Professor) Night of the 2025-26 academic year, the CSUN Women's Soccer team paid tribute to 11 CSUN professors at halftime of the Matadors' 1-0 Big West victory against Cal State Bakersfield on Sunday (Oct. 12) at Matador Soccer Field.

"The MVP nights are a great celebration of our student-athletes and their dedication to both academics and athletics," said Mary Beth Walker, CSUN's Acting Director of Athletics. "The faculty here, through their insight and dedication, have an enormous impact on the success of these student-athletes."
Each participating student-athlete honored one professor who has significantly impacted their academic journey, underscoring the deep connections that extend beyond the classroom. All 11 CSUN professors were honored by the nominating student-athlete on the field during the halftime ceremony.
- Denice Labertew, a professor in the Department of Criminology and Justice Studies, was invited by student-athlete Hayden Mauldin.
- Michael Doron, a professor in the Department of Accounting, was invited by student-athlete Kayden Perigo.
- Jaime Alanå, a professor in the Department of Criminology and Justice Studies, was invited by student-athlete Yoshi Rubalcava.
- Robert Kim, a professor in the Department of Marketing, was invited by student-athlete Jackie Victorio.
- Eloy Lopez, a professor in the Department of Mathematics, was invited by student-athletes Riley Liebsack and Michelle Santana.
- Sienna Ludka, a professor in the Department of Psychology, was invited by student-athlete Alena Ramirez.
- Kristo Gobin, a professor in the Department of Communication Studies, was invited by Siena Navarra.
- Daniel Tamae, a professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, was invited by Savannah Estrada.
- Eric Miele, a professor in the Department of Systems and Operations Management, was invited by Ella Witherspoon.
- Kacie Blackman, a professor in the Department of Health Sciences, was invited by Cailey Jackson.
- Whitney Scott, a professor in the Department of Child & Adolescent Development, was invited by Ireland Regan.
