CSUN Falls 1-0 at Cal Poly in Road Finale
10/26/2025 5:45:00 PM | Men's Soccer
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — CSUN men's soccer dropped its regular-season road finale Sunday, falling 1-0 to Cal Poly at Mustang Memorial Field at Spanos Stadium.
Sean McTague provided the difference for the Mustangs (7-5-5, 4-2-2 Big West), scoring the match's lone goal in the 65th minute with a shot into the bottom left corner.
Siddiq Lezzar had an incredible save in the 35th minute. Cal Poly lofted a ball into the box, which went over Dorian Drucks' head. Lezzar came seemingly out of nowhere to head the ball out of the box and save what would have been a goal for the Mustangs.
The match was back and forth with both sides playing tough defense and executing carefully on the offensive end.
The Matadors (6-6-5, 1-5-2 Big West) were held scoreless despite outshooting Cal Poly 6-5 in the second half and earning six corner kicks on the night.
Michael Blevins, Jake Shaked and Finn Werner each recorded a shot on goal for CSUN, but Mustang goalkeeper Nicky McCune stopped all three attempts to post the clean sheet.
Drucks made one save in goal for CSUN, as he has now recorded a save in every one of his games played this season (16).
NOTES OF THE GAME
ACCORDING TO ASSISTANT COACH MILAN RADOVIC
"We played as hard as we possibly could but our execution and quality didn't match our work. All games in the Big West are decided by small margins. Cal Poly executed better today."
