Cal Poly Turns Back CSUN 7-0

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif -- CSUN Women's Tennis fell to the Cal Poly Mustangs, 7-0 at Ronca Tennis Center Sunday afternoon. The Matadors drops to 6-7 (0-3 Big West) on the season, while Cal Poly improves to 12-3, (3-1 Big West)

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Matadors took a half-doubles point when Yuliia Zhytelna/Madison Shepperson bested Natalie Lynch/Sarah MacCallum 6-3 to start the duel. However, Cal Poly won the next two doubles matches. Kennedy Buntrock/Romane Mosse defeated Elena Goodman/Emma Moratalla Sanz, 6-4.Â

Finally Cal Poly took the doubles point when Peyton Dunkle/Amy Leather defeated Angela Ho/ VIctoria Santibanez Luna, 6-4.

To begin singles play, Ho fell to Dunkle, 6-2, 6-1, putting Cal Poly in front 2-0.

Moose bested Santibanez Luna 6-2, 6-4, before Lynch overturned Dermenjyan 7-5, 6-3, to seal the win

In the remaining matches, MacCallum defeated Moratalla Sanz, 6-2, 6-4, Alexandra Ozerets bested. Elena Goodman 7-5, 6-4 and Buntrock bested Zhytelna 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 1-0 (10-0) to finish the day.

- Zhytelna and Shepperson improved to 4-0 in doubles play.
- Ho is now 9-3 in singles play.
- Goodman drops to 5-2 for the season.
