CSUN Announces Men's Basketball Schedule
9/4/2025 2:30:00 PM | Men's Basketball
NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN head men's basketball coach Andy Newman has announced the 31-game 2025-26 schedule, featuring 15 games at Premier America Credit Union Arena with the season opener set for Nov. 3.Â
"I think we did a good job of putting together a competitive non-conference schedule that will prepare us for the Big West," said Newman. "Home games against Fresno State, Sacramento State and Troy will be a chance for our fans to see some really good early basketball in Premier America Credit Union Arena. I guess we can't get enough of Palo Alto, as we head up there for the third straight year for another really tough test against an ACC team."
This season, CSUN will take on a pair of teams that played in last season's NCAA Tournament along with four NIT participants. A total of eight teams on the 2025-26 docket also had winning records and 20 or more wins a season ago.Â
The 2025-26 season officially opens inside Premier America Credit Union Arena with CSUN hosting Nobel University on Monday, Nov. 3. CSUN will then hit the road for its next three games, featuring first-ever meetings with Northern Iowa (Nov. 6) and the University of North Dakota (Nov. 9) before closing up at North Dakota State (Nov. 11). Opening month also includes CSUN returning home to square off with defending Sun Belt Conference champion Troy University on Nov. 16.Â
The Matadors are set to compete in Boise, Idaho at the Holiday Hoops Classic. CSUN is scheduled to face Idaho on Nov. 26 and Idaho State on Nov. 28 for the multi-team event.Â
The Big West's Bold Week is slated for the first week of December with CSUN hosting Cal State Bakersfield (Dec. 4) in the conference opener before traveling to UC Irvine (Dec. 6) in a marquee league matchup. The Matadors then resume non-conference play with a three-game homestand, starting with Fresno State on Dec. 10. After hosting La Sierra on Dec. 19, CSUN faces future Big West team Sacramento State on Dec. 22. Finally, the Matadors close non-conference play at Stanford on Dec. 27 in a rematch of last season's NIT first round game.Â
CSUN resumes Big West play with a New Year's Day matchup at UC Davis. The Matadors will then play their next two at home against UC Santa Barbara (Jan. 3) and Cal Poly (Jan. 8) while road tests are set for Cal State Fullerton (Jan. 10) and defending Big West champ UC San Diego (Jan. 15) soon after. CSUN is set to play three of its next four at home with Long Beach State opening up the stretch on Jan. 17. After making the trek to Hawai'i on Jan. 24, the Matadors host return meetings with UC Davis (Jan. 29) and UC San Diego (Jan. 31) to close up the month.
In February, CSUN travels to San Luis Obispo to meet Cal Poly (Feb. 5) while the Matadors host UC Riverside (Feb. 7) and Hawai'i (Feb. 14). Big West play continues with road tests at UC Santa Barbara (Feb. 19) and Long Beach State (Feb. 21) followed by a home tilt with UC Irvine on Feb. 26.Â
After a return meeting at UC Riverside (Feb. 28), CSUN begins March with its final road game of the regular season at Cal State Bakersfield (March 5). The Matadors conclude the home schedule with a Senior Night clash against Cal State Fullerton on Saturday, March 7.Â
The Big West Men's Basketball Championship returns to Lee's Family Forum in Henderson, Nev. The four-day conference tournament is scheduled for March 11-14.Â
