CSUN Takes Care of Westmont, 7-0 in Home Non-Conference Dual

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. --- CSUN delivered a dominant performance Wednesday afternoon, sweeping Westmont 7-0 at the Matador Tennis Complex. The Matadors (3-1) claimed the doubles point and did not drop a singles match en route to their third victory of the season.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
CSUN set the tone early in doubles play.Â

The tandem of Angela Ho and Sandra Arguelles rolled to a 6-0 win over Thea Donarski and Sabina Salva at Court No.1. Madison Shepperson and Satsuki Ishikawa followed with a 6-2 victory at Court No. 2 to clinch the point against Ellie Triplett and Liska Knight. Tallia Harper and Annette Robertson capped the sweep at doubles with a 7-6 triumph at No. 3.
In singles, the Matadors continued their strong play, winning all six matches in straight sets.Â
Vitoria Solis Urdiales was first off the court with a 6-0, 6-0 decision over Jessie Allen at Court No. 6.
Next, Arguelles matched Urdiales' scoreline at Court No. 5, defeating Rylee Halsey 6-0, 6-0. The victory gave CSUN a 3-0 lead.
Shepperson added another shutout at Court No. 3, topping Triplett 6-0, 6-0. This win clinched the match for the Matadors, giving CSUN a 4-0 lead.
CSUN posted its fourth shutout victory, this time at Court No. 2 as Harper posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Salva.
The Matadors then took a 6-0 lead, as Ishikawa earned a 6-2, 6-1 win over Justie Spitzer at Court No. 4.
Finally, Ho wrapped up the clean sweep for the Matadors at Court No.1. She defeated Donarski by a score of 6-4, 6-0
