IRVINE, Calif. - CSUN's No. 1 beach pair of Hannah Heflin and Maleya Miles earned Big West Pairs Team of the Week Honors after a perfect 2-0 weekend on the sand.
Heflin and Miles defeated the No. 1 pairs from both Concordia Irvine and No. 10 Long Beach State last weekend on the LBSU Sand Courts. The CSUN duo improved to 12-15 on the season after winning in three sets (21-18, 12-21, 19-17) over CUI's Kelia Giusta and Ashley Rossi followed by another three-set win over the Beach's Malia Gementera and Taylor Hagenah (21-18, 11-21, 18-16).
Heflin and Miles have won six of their last nine dual matches, including wins over No. 10 Long Beach State, Oregon, UTEP, Concordia, and UC Davis.
The award is the first for CSUN Beach Volleyball since Katie Sato and Aeryn Owens won the weekly award on Apr. 23, 2018.
"Super proud of Maleya and Hannah," said head coach Jeff Hall. "They have been playing at an elite level, and every match they play is a heavyweight fight. Everyone's No. 1 pair is legit, and they have gone toe-to-toe with those pairs all year long. They are a true number one pair, and we are very fortunate they play for CSUN Beach." Â
CSUN wraps up the 2026 regular season this week, traveling to No. 9 LMU on Friday at 1 p.m. The Matadors then travel to Bakersfield for a tri-dual against the host Roadrunners and Pacific on Saturday.
