CSUN Men’s Soccer Announces 2026 Schedule

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN head men's soccer coach Terry Davila has announced the Matadors' 2026 schedule. CSUN's 17 match regular season schedule includes four NCAA tournament teams and features 10 matches at Matador Soccer Field, beginning with the home opener against The Master's University on August 27. After three exhibition contests, CSUN opens the regular season on the road at UNLV on August 20.
CSUN will open the schedule with three exhibition matches, beginning with California Baptist on Aug. 8 at 7 p.m. The Matadors will then host CSU San Bernardino on Aug. 12 at 7:00 p.m. Lastly, CSUN will close out the exhibition schedule with a road match against an NCAA tournament team from 2025 in San Diego on Aug. 15.
After the Matadors travel to UNLV to open up the regular season on Aug. 20, they will host The Master's University in their regular season home opener on Aug. 27.
After hosting the Mustangs, CSUN has a quick three-day turnaround as it will take on Oral Roberts on Aug. 30. The Matadors defeated the Golden Eagles on the road in 2025, 1-0. The Matadors will then conclude the opening three-game homestand when they take on Houston Christian on Sept. 4.
CSUN will then head north for a two-game road trip beginning Sept. 7. The Matadors will open the trip at Stanford, facing a squad that advanced to the third round of the NCAA tournament in 2025 before losing to eventual champion, Washington 1-0. To close out the short road trip, CSUN will take on the Pacific Tigers in Stockton on Sept. 13.
CSUN then returns to Northridge to open a four-match homestand, its longest homestand of the season, on Sept. 17.
The Matadors will host the San Jose State Spartans at 7:00 p.m., before hosting another NCAA tournament team in Grand Canyon just three days later on Sept. 20. GCU finished 2025 with a 14-4-5 record.
CSUN will then kick off Big West play with a home showdown against the Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners on Sept. 30.
In a first for the program, CSUN kicks off the inaugural Big West-Pac 12 partnership with a home matchup against San Diego State on October 3.
CSUN then will play its first Big West road match, taking on UC Irvine on Oct. 7 before returning home for a rivalry contest against Cal State Fullerton on Oct. 10.
After Fullerton, the squad will play two road contests in a row, at UC Riverside on Oct. 14 and then at the newest Big West opponent, Utah Valley on Oct. 17. The third-to-last game of the year will be against UC San Diego in Northridge on Oct. 21. The games against the Highlanders and the Tritons are part of the Pac-12 partnership as well.
On Oct. 24, CSUN will play host to Sacramento State on Senior Day for its final home game of 2026. The Matadors conclude the regular season on the road against UC Santa Barbara on Oct. 31, with kick-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
The 2026 Big West Men's Soccer Championship begins with the semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 7, and concludes with the finals on Saturday, Nov. 14.
The Matadors are coming off a 2025 season where they finished with an overall record of 6-6-6 and were 1-5-3 in the Big West. Head coach Terry Davila is entering his 28th season at the helm.
