Lightning Suspends Second Round of Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The second round of CSUN's season opening tournament was suspended due to lightning and the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational will resume Tuesday morning at UNM Championship Course. The second round will resume at 7:30 a.m. MT on Tuesday, followed by the final round with the same pairings as Monday.
The Matadors opened with a team round of 17-over 305 in the first round, and all five CSUN players have between two and four holes remaining in the second round.Â
Senior Meghan Paracuelles and sophomore Sophie Cook led the Matadors after the opening round, each carding a 3-over 75. Paracuelles and Cook each had one birdie, 13 pars, and four bogeys in the opening round. Paracuelles was even through 15 holes before making bogey on each of her final three holes. Cook was 1-over through 16 holes before making bogey on her final two holes of the round.Â

CSUN SCORES
- Following Paracuelles and Cook, senior Nicole Tanoue finished the opening round at 4-over 76. Tanoue had a team-high three birdies in round one.
- Freshman Moanikeala Finau opened her collegiate career with a 7-over 79 which included a pair of birdies.
- Fellow freshman Ashley Han, also making her collegiate debut, also had a pair of birdies in an opening round 8-over 80.Â
- A third CSUN freshman Olivia Yoon, also making her CSUN debut, is competing as an individual and opened with a 14-over 86.
