Appeared in 45 games and started in 42 of them…Was second on team in batting average at .324… Fifth on the team in hits at 35…Tallied 41 total bases… Second on the team in walks at 16… Drove in a career best 11 RBIs… Slugged .380… Only struck out 10 times in 108 at-bats.. Named to All-Big West Second Team
CSUN - 2024 (Junior)
Chavez made 40 appearances with 37 starts in her first season with CSUN ... batted .227 with 25 hits, 13 runs, nine RBI and three doubles ... played mostly at first base on the year ... ranked third in the Big West in double plays (13) and eighth in putouts (242) ... fifth on the team in hits and runs scored ... went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases vs. Portland State (2/9/24) ... drove in two runs and added a double vs. Seattle U (2/23/24) ... finished 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored vs. Saint Mary's (3/7/24) ... came away with the winning two-run single in a win over UC San Diego (5/4/24) ... named an NFCA Scholar-Athlete.

A softball team member at NCAA Division Louisiana-Monroe from 2022-23 … was named second-team All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-Louisiana at second base by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association as a freshman after hitting .335 in 52 appearances (49 starts) with 16 RBI … posted a .406 slugging and .387 on-base percentage for the Warhawks in 2022 with eight doubles and 16 RBI ... charted 52 hits with 26 runs scored, 16 walks, 11 stolen bases, and eight doubles as a rookie … recorded a 14-game hitting streak from Mar. 29 to Apr. 23, 2022 … finished inaugural campaign 10th in the Sun Belt Conference in on-base percentage and 12th in hitting … started 41-of-42 appearances as a sophomore … recorded 19 hits in 119 at-bats with eight runs scored and four RBI … named as an NFCA Scholar-Athlete as a freshman.

Daughter of Jorge and Araceli Chavez … favorites include the Los Angeles Dodgers, Kiké Hernandez, Shemar Moore, Jennifer Lawrence, How to get away with Murder, The Hunger Games, Asian Food, Maverick City, Drake, and Netflix … chose CSUN because she liked what the program had to offer … says greatest sports moment so far is driving in the tying run against Texas State as a freshman while at ULM … says the best thing about being an athlete are the relationships she has made throughout her career, making lifetime-long friends throughout her journey … says the toughest thing about being an athlete is that people tend to forget how much pressure not only others put on you to be successful, but the amount of pressure you put on yourself to be successful, being an athlete isn't an easy thing to do, but it is worth it … says the best athlete she has played against is Montana Fouts … the most famous person she has met is Jennie Finch … the person in history she would like to meet is Kobe Bryant … would like to switch places for one day with Jennifer Lopez … says the best advice she has been given is that reputation is everything … her advice to young people is don't try to grow up too fast; enjoy your time; everything will happen at the right time … says her greatest hero is her mother, because she keeps her grounded, she knows when to yell at her and when to comfort her; she wants to be a mom just like her.
