Brendan Brooks enters his second season with the CSUN Baseball team and his first as an assistant coach in 2026.Â
Brooks was elevated to an assistant coach position with the Matadors in Oct. 2025. He previously spent the 2024 season with CSUN as the program's director of player development and camp coordinator.Â
In his coaching career, Brooks has served as an assistant coach at Riverside City College from 2023-24, helping the Tigers record a 27-17 overall record. Riverside City College also competed in the SoCal Super Regionals with Brooks on the bench.
A SoCal native, Brooks began his collegiate baseball career at UC Irvine where he played for head coach Mike Gillespie from 2018-19. Brooks led the team in batting average at a .308 clip with 53 hits as a freshman outfielder and third baseman, collecting All-Big West Honorable Mention accolades.
Brooks would complete his collegiate baseball career at UNLV in 2021. He earned an All-Mountain West First Team honor in his senior season after leading the Rebels in on-base percentage (.538) and walks (21) to go with a .407 batting average, 27 runs scored and 22 RBI.
