Kyle Barret

A former standout with the Matadors, Kyle Barret returned to the team as an undergraduate manager for the 2020 season. Barret helped with the coordination of practice and served as the team's first base coach at games.
Barret was a two-year letterwinner with the Matadors from 2018-19, which culminated with all-conference honors in his senior campaign. After spending time as a utility player in 2018, Barret assumed second baseman duties as a senior and flourished at the plate. Barret finished tops on the team in batting average (.333), runs (33), hits (69), doubles (19), RBI (32) and slugging (.502) in 54 games.
His 19 doubles in 2019 were the most by any Matador since 1998. Barret finished second in the Big West in doubles while he ranked fifth in batting, seventh in hits and eighth in walks (27). He earned All-Big West Second Team honors following the season.
He began his collegiate career at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock in 2015 where he appeared in 29 games. Barret would transfer to Skyline College, seeing action in 41 games while finishing with a .386 average, 64 hits, 54 RBI, 44 runs and 12 home runs. He earned unanimous all-state honors in addition to ABCA/Rawlings All-America recognition. He prepped at Carlmont High School and won league titles in 2013 and 2014.
Barret is currently studying to earn his degree in economics from CSUN.
