CSUN - 2025 (Junior)
Appeared in 43 games and started in 35 of them… Fifth on the team in batting average at a .302 clip… hit two home runs and had 32 hits… Tallied 18 RBIs with a .356 on base percentage… Had two three hit games, one versus Cal Poly (3/9) and one versus UC San Diego (4/25).. Tied for the team lead in triples with three…fourth on the team in total bases with 47… Named All-Big West Honorable Mention
CSUN - 2024 (Sophomore)
Nielsen appeared in 34 games in her first season with CSUN ... used primarily as a pinch runner and scored 13 runs ... had two at bats and picked up a double on the season ... collected a pinch-hit double at Cal Sate Bakersfield (4/27/24) ... named an NFCA Scholar-Athlete.
PRIOR TO CSUN
Appeared in 19 games, making two starts for the University of Hawai’i during the 2023 season … scored three runs and walked once.

A 2022 graduate of Cerritos High School … a two-time 605 League MVP … selected to the 2021 All-CIF Southern Section Division 3 team and as the Cerritos Community News Player of the Year as a junior after hitting .535 with a .693 on-base percentage, two home runs, 16 RBI, and 30 stolen bases … selected to the Long Beach Press-Telegram Dream Team’s first team as a senior … repeated as Cerritos Community News Player of the Year as a senior … team won three league championships … hit .600 with a .740 on-base percentage and had 66 stolen bases during prep career … CLUB EXPERIENCE: Played for the Athletics travel team.

Daughter of Jon and Janine Nielsen … father played collegiate football at Fresno State, Long Beach City College, and Claremont McKenna College and played professional football with the Oakland Raiders of the NFL, Toronto Argonauts of the CFL, Arkansas Twisters of Arena Football League 2, and the Birmingham Thunderbolts of the original XFL … favorites include the San Francisco Giants, Sis Bats, Michael B. Jordan, Zoe Saldana, Modern Family, A League of Their Own, Zippy’s Chili Spaghetti, Common Kings, SZA, and Amazon.com … chose CSUN because of the coaching staff and school, she saw how much the coaching staff is dedicated to their players and how much they care for them on and off the field, CSUN also has amazing facilities and committed staff. School-wise, the college has the degree I want to pursue in business marketing … says her greatest sports moment is hitting a leadoff home run in the first round of the CIF playoffs during her junior season, which helped the team advance to the next round … says the best thing about being an athlete is staying in shape and creating bonds that could last a lifetime, you are constantly pushing yourself to get better and better every day, lessons that you learn from your sport can be applied to the real world … says the toughest thing about being an athlete is the mental challenges that we constantly go through, softball revolves around failure, we meet failure more than we meet success on the field, we must maintain a strong mentality and a positive attitude … wears #2 because this is the second University that she will attend, so it is my "second stop”, therefore, she chose #2 … says the best athlete she played against is Millie Fidge … the most famous person she has met is Bruno Mars … the person in history she would like to meet is Kobe Bryant … the two people she would like to have dinner with are Michael B. Jordan and Chadwick Boseman … the best advice she has been given is get out of your own way … her advice to young people is push yourself and put the work in … says her greatest hero is her father because he has been through thick and thin with her; he has shaped her into the person she is today, he is always there for me, and she is forever thankful to have him in her life.
