2014-15 (R-JUNIOR): Appeared in 11 games…averaged 0.5 points and 0.4 rebounds per game…scored a career-high six points, including two three-pointers, in the Matadors’ home win over UC Santa Barbara…had career-high two rebounds in game against Saint Joseph’s… had two steals on the season.
2013-14 (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season in accordance with NCAA transfer rules coming to CSUN from Sonoma State.
PRIOR TO CSUN: Played two seasons at Sonoma State…averaged 6.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in 51 career games...earned Scholar-Athlete honors and was named the Alumni Association's Outstanding Female Student-Athlete.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2011 graduate of Chaminade High School in West Hills, Calif…a three-time All-League selection for the Eagles...named her team's captain and MVP...was a second team All-CIF choice as a senior...led the Eagles to a program-best 29-5 record as a senior...named Chaminade's Female Athlete of the Year...earned multiple All-Tournament awards.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Siobhan and Philip Newman… majoring in communications…has one sister, Isabel, and one brother, Elijah…mom played volleyball at UC Riverside…favorites include the Lakers, "Grey's Anatomy" and "Dreamgirls"…says the best thing about being an athlete is developing the rewarding relationships along the way…best advice she's been given is "life is a journey, not a destination"…can't imagine going a week without coffee.
