Ivan Alzate

Ivan Altzate returns to the Matador men's soccer program in 2008. An accomplished player and coach, 2008 represents Alzate's fifth season as an assistant with the men's program.
Nicknamed "Ikes", Altzate spent three seasons (1997-99) as a member of former CSUN men's head coach Marwan Ass’ad's staff and served on Terry Davila's staff during the 2004 campaign.
He has also served as an assistant with the Matadors' women's program for five seasons (2000-04). Prior to arriving in Northridge, Alzate accumulated many coaching accomplishments in club soccer.
Alzate graduate from Southwest Miami (Fla.) Senior High School in 1984, where he was named All-County three times. Alzate began his collegiate career at Miami Dade Community College, earning an AA before transferring to Northridge where he graduated with a B.S. in chicano studies. He also owns a "D" National Coaching License.
Alzate was born in Hackensack, N.J. and is married to Jody Preis. The couple has four children; Niko, Quentin, Gabriela, and Enzo.
