Cindy Ball, a coaching veteran and former all-conference selection while a player at Pacific, joined the Matadors prior to the start of the 2013 season as an assistant coach. Ball will work primarily with the Matadors' pitchers while also helping with the outfielders and other administrative duties.

Ball spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Washington, helping the team qualify for the NCAA Tournament in all three seasons. She worked closely with 2012 All-American pitcher Kaitlin Inglesby

Before her stint in Seattle, Ball was the head coach at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento, Calif. (2009-2010), where she re-started the program after a year break and led them to 25 more wins than the previous season with a 34-17 record in 2008. In 2009, CRC posted an impressive 41-11 record to finish second in the Big 8 Conference and third in Northern California. In her final season at CRC, the team was the No. 1 seed in the North and competed in the Cal JC State Final Four Tournament, finishing the year with a 36-16 record.

For one season prior to CRC, Ball was the head softball coach at Modesto Junior College in Modesto, Calif., where she led the team to a 16 game improvement from the previous season and a Regional Championship.

From 2002-06, Ball was an assistant at her Alma Mater, the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif. At UOP she was the pitching coach while helping scout, assist with practice plans, monitor student’s academics and promoting and organizing camps.

Ball also has numerous club coaching and teaching experience throughout Northern California. She sports a master's degree in education from UOP in 2006 and completed her bachelor's degree in sport sciences in 2002.

As a student-athlete for the Tigers (1999-2002), Ball was a two-time NFCA All-American and the Two-Time Big West Pitcher of the Year. She finished her career as the leader in innings pitched (883.1), wins (91), saves (10), strikeouts (761) and shutouts (46). She also broke season records in wins (33), saves (6), shutouts (18) and RBI's (46). She had jersey retired her alma mater, Pacific, during the 2012 season.

She continued her playing career after her collegiate years were over by playing professionally in Italy in 2002, leading Team Bussolengo to the playoffs. Ball led that team in batting average, home runs and ERA.

In 2004, Ball returned to Stockton, Calif., to play in the National Pro Fastpitch League with the Stockton-Sacramento Sunbirds. From 2008-10 she participated in the Canada Cup where she was an All-Star in 2008 and as a designated player hit .600.
