Made 31 appearances and started in 19 games in the circle… Accumulated a 3.92 ERA in a 137 innings pitched… Struck out 66 while allowing a .289 batting average against… Allowed a career low 34 walks…. Was in the circle for a save against Hawai’i to send the Matadors to the Championship Game in the Big West Championships.. Struck out a season best six against UC Davis (4/4) … Named to the Academic All-District Team…. Named to Spring Academic All-Big West team…
CSUN - 2024 (Sophomore)
Alonso led the team with 31 appearances and 25 games started ... went 12-13 in the circle while posting a 3.52 ERA with two shutouts and 70 strikeouts ... ranked seventh in the Big West in innings pitched with 143.1 and tied for fifth in batters struck out looking with 26 … posted 11 complete games … went 5-11 with a 4.32 ERA in 18 Big West games ... earned a complete game win with two runs allowed vs. Utah Tech (2/15/24) ... tossed a three-hit shutout vs. Bethune-Cookman (2/24/24) ... went the distance for a two-hit shutout at San Diego (3/2/24) ... tossed a one-hitter, allowing a run vs. Saint Mary's (3/7/24) ... allowed three unearned runs in a complete game win vs. Long Beach State (3/29/24) ... earned Big West All-Academic Team, CSC Academic All-District Team and NFCA Scholar-Athlete honors.

Named honorable mention All-Conference and was a member of the Big West All-Freshman team ... went 8-5 in the circle with a 2.64 ERA ... led the team in innings pitched (102.2), solo shutouts (3), and overall shutouts (4) ... second on the team in complete games (4), and strikeouts (38) ... in Big West-only statistics, Alonso was fourth in opposing batting average (.194), fourth in hits allowed (35), seventh in runs allowed (17), and eighth in ERA (1.76) ... was named Big West Freshman of the Week on Mar. 20 after posting a one-hitter at Cal Poly ... selected as a Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete.

Daughter of Santiago and Diana Alonso … a Biology major ... favorites include the Los Angeles Dodgers, Rachel Garcia, Theo James, Zendaya, The Simpson, Divergent, Pasta, One Direction, Drake, and YouTube … chose CSUN because she loved the atmosphere, the people, and the team, and she knew this was the school for her … says her greatest moment so far is receiving 2021 Moore League Pitcher of the Year award … says the best thing about being an athlete are the friendships, the highs, and lows and ultimately winning as a team is always a wonderful moment … says the hardest thing about being an athlete are the injuries and how to overcome them or the losing … she says the injuries teach you valuable lessons … says the best athlete she has played against is Sophia Nuggent … the most famous person she has met is Snoop Dog … the person in history she would like to meet is Theo James … would like to switch places for one day with Michelle Obama ... the two people she would like to have dinner with are Michael Jackson and Michelle Obama … says her greatest hero is her mom because she’s always had her back and she cares so much for her and she’ll do anything for her and she loves her for that.
