2010-11 (SENIOR): Appeared in 23 games, making eight starts...averaged 3.6 points and 3.9 rebounds for the year...numbers jumped to 4.3 points and 4.1 rebounds during league season...helped lead Matadors to upset victory over Cal Poly on Feb. 17, by posting 16 points, six field goals, three three-pointers and 10 rebounds, all of which set season highs, in victory over the Mustangs...the double-double was the first of her career...dished out three assists at Long Beach State on Feb. 9...had three blocks against San Diego on Jan. 19...had four steals against UC Irvine on Jan. 27...added 11 assists, seven blocked shots and 18 steals for the season...joined the team late after concluding her second and final season as a member of the women's volleyball team in the Fall of 2010.
2009-10 (JUNIOR): Did not compete in women’s basketball at CSUN...played volleyball for the Matadors..appeared in 13 matches...tallied 23 kills (1.05 kpg) in 108 swings...also contributed 24 digs (1.09 dpg) and six total blocks (0.27 bpg).
PRIOR TO CSUN: Spent two seasons (2006-07, 2008-09) at LA Pierce College in Woodland Hills, Calif...earned first team All-Western State Conference in volleyball for the Brahmas both seasons...Pierce finished with the best record in the program's history at 32-2 and won its eighth consecutive WSC conference title in 2008...also played guard for the Brahmas basketball team...earned her associate of arts degree in 2009.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2006 graduate of University High School...competed in both volleyball and basketball...was an All-City outside hitter for the Wildcats as a senior in 2006.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Maria and Emilio Alvarado... major is child and adolescent development...has two brothers, Emilio and Orlando and one sister, Abigail ... favorites include the Los Angeles Lakers, former NBA?star Michael Jordan, actor Ben Stiller, the TV show "The Office" and the movie "Zoolander"..favorite website is Wikipedia.org...says her iPod is the one possession she could not live without.
