2010-11 (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season as a redshirt in the CSUN program.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2010 graduate of Santa Teresa High School...played four years of tennis for the Saint Bernards...compiled a 45-9 singles record, splitting her career between the No. 2 and No. 1 draws...helped lead her team to Mount Hamilton Division Championship in 2009.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Kim and Henry Simmons...majoring in business management...has two sisters, Najah and Ayana...Ayana plays women's tennis at league rival UC Riverside...favorites include the Miami Heat, Denzel Washington and Italian food...would like to be stranded on a desert island with lots of food...advice to young people is "try hard now so that things will be easier in the future"...could not live without her Ipod...says her parents are her greatest heroes.
