CSUN Tennis Announces 2025-26 Fall-Spring Schedule

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN Women's Tennis head coach Gary Victor has released the Matadors' 2025-26 fall and spring schedule which is set to kick off September 19 with the Claremont/Pomona Pitzer Invitational. Spring competition will begin Jan.16 with the Long Beach State Winter Invitational.

"We have a very competitive non-conference schedule preparing us for one of the top mid-major conferences in the country," Victor said.

The Matadors are expected to play in four fall competitions to round out 2025. CSUN will play in the Claremont/Pomona Pitzer Invitational on Sep. 19. Following that, the Big West Individuals will happen on October 2. Two weeks later on October 16, CSUN will compete in the ITA Southwest Regionals.

To round out the fall schedule, and to kick off November, CSUN will host the annual CSUN Fall Invite from Nov. 7-9.Â

The first spring duel will take place on January 31. CSUN will play host to Caltech to start a five match homestand. CSUN was scheduled to take on Caltech in 2025 but the match was cancelled due to inclement weather.Â

Then, CSUN will host LMU on Feb. 1. The Matadors will look to avenge a 4-3 loss to the Lions during the 2025 campaign. Following its matchup with the Lions, the Matadors will play Westmont on Feb. 17. CSUN defeated the Warriors in a clean sweep, 7-0 in 2025.

The Matadors will continue their homestand with two more matches. CSUN will play San Jose State on Feb. 21, and then will have a quick turnaround and host Cal Poly on Feb. 22 for its first match in Big West play.

Four days later, CSUN will partake in its first road duel of the season, a Feb. 26 contest versus Santa Clara. Following that match, the Matadors will stay on the road but return to Big West play as they take on UC Davis on February 28. CSUN defeated the Aggies 5-2 in 2025.

After UC Davis, CSUN will play the first of five consecutive non-conference duels as it takes on Pacific away from Northridge on March 1. CSUN played the Tigers on the same date in 2025, winning 5-2.

The Matadors will stay on the road, this time heading to Fresno for two duels. The first being at Fresno State on March 6 while the following day, the Matadors will play Weber State on the same court.Â

The tennis squad then returns home for the last two non-conference bouts of the year with the first being against Richmond (March 14) followed by Omaha (March 19) at Matador Tennis Complex.

CSUN then continues Big West play the very next day on March 20, as the Matadors will take on Cal State Fullerton at Titan Courts. The Matadors will then enjoy an 11 day break before returning home to face UC Riverside on March 31.Â
After March is over, the first game in April will be against UC Irvine at Anteater Tennis Stadium (April 4). CSUN will next return home for the penultimate homestand of the season, as the Matadors take on Long Beach State (April 11) and UC San Diego (April 12). On April 17, CSUN will travel to UCSB to take on the Gauchos at Arnhold Tennis Center, before returning home for Senior Day against Hawai'i on April 19.Â

The Big West Championship will take place on April 23-26 in San Diego at Barnes Tennis Center.Â

The Matadors are returning eight letterwinners from the 2024-25 team with one newcomer. Some star returners include Angela Ho and Emma Moratalla Sanz. Ho finished 2024 with a 14-5 record in singles play, including going 10-2 on Court No. 3. Moratalla Sanz was impressive as well, going 10-8 overall and 7-3 on Court No. 5.Â

CSUN finished 2024-25 with an 11-10 overall record and a 4-5 mark in the Big West. The Matadors had a postseason win against Cal State Fullerton in the first round of the 2025 Big West Women's Tennis Championship.Â
