2010 (SENIOR)
OUTDOOR: Reached the NCAA Outdoor Championships for the second time in the 4x400 relay...the Matadors ran 3:42.56 and did not reach the event final...qualified for the NCAA?West Region Championships in the 400 meters for the second time and the long jump for the first time...also competed on the Matador relay teams...ran :53.45 in the 400 meter prelims to advance to the semifinals where she clocked a time of :53.67 to finish 15th... jumped 19-3 1/4 to finish in a tie for 31st in the long jump qualifier...won her second straight Big West long jump championship with a career-best leap of 20-1...had her two-year streak of Big?West 400 meter championships end with a second place finish despite running a lifetime-best :52.82...finished third in the heptathlon scoring a lifetime-best 5,132 points which ranks fifth in Northridge history...set personal-bests in the 100 meter hurdles (:14.82) and 200 meters (:24.08) as part of the heptathlon.
INDOOR: Finished fifth in the long jump at the MPSF Championship with a career-best distance of 20-0 1/2 which furthers her Matador indoor long jump record...was 10th in the 400 meters at the MPSF's after running :56.07.
2009 (JUNIOR)
OUTDOOR: Ruffin qualified for the NCAA?Championships in the 4x100 relay where the Matadors finished 11th in the prelims (:44.59)...reached the NCAA?West Region Championships for the second straight season in the 400 meters as well as relays...finished sixth in the prelims (:54.03)?to advance to the 400 final where she placed seventh in :54.73...the 4x400 relay finished fifth in 3:38.83...won her second straight Big West 400 meter title after running a season-best :53.53 in the final...her time ranks third in Matador history...won the long jump with a leap of 19-7. 1/2 and finished second in the heptathlon with 5,023 points which is the seventh-best score 1:00.13 at the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner Kersee Invitational (Apr. 11) which ranks seventh in CSUN?history.
INDOOR: Won the long jump at the MPSF Championship with a season-best 19-8 1/4...ran an indoor personal-best :55.34 in the 400 meters at the New Balance Invitational (Feb. 6-7) which ranks fourth in Northridge indoor history.
2008 (SOPHOMORE)
OUTDOOR: Made the NCAA?West Regional in the 400 meters where she finished sixth in a time of :54.89...ran the fourth-best prelim time at :54.59...also ran on the Matadors' 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams that won Big?West titles and advanced to the NCAA?Regional...was the Big West 400 meter champion after running a lifetime-best :53.80 which ranks fourth in Northridge history...also finished third in the Big?West heptathlon after scoring a personal-best 5,032 points which ranks sixth on the Matador career list...finished ninth in the Big West in the 200 meters (:24.80) after running a season-best 24.30 in the prelims...earned USTFCCCA All-West Region honors in the 400 meters.
INDOOR: Finished eighth in the 200 meters in a season-best :24.74 at the MPSF Championship.
2007 (FRESHMAN)
OUTDOOR: Placed fifth in the 400 meters at the Big West Championship in a time of :56.76 clocked a personal-best :54.75 in the event prelims....her time ranks eighth on the all-time Northridge list and third on the all-time Freshmen list...also ran a season-best :24.24 in the 200 meters during the outdoor season at the Tiny Lister Classic at Cal State LA...that time ranks sixth on the Northridge Freshmen records list.
INDOOR: Named Western Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year...finished third in the 400 meters (:55.59) at the WAC Indoor Championship after clocking a personal-best and meet-best :55.47 in the prelims...her time ranks fourth in Northridge indoor history...also qualified in the 200 meters at the WAC Indoor Championship where she ran a season-best :24.46 to place fourth...her time is seventh-best on the Matador Indoor records list.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2005 graduate of Beaumont High School...lettered in both track and cross country...earned All-DeAnza League in both track & field and cross country for the Cougars...her cross country team won the DeAnza League championship during her freshman year....graduated with a 3.0 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Yolanda and Anthony Ruffin ...has one older brother, Durell and one younger sister, Nicole...favorites include the Tennessee Titans, U.S. Olympic sprinter Allyson Felix, the TV show "House" and "The Lion King"...says the toughest thing about being an athlete is "finding my full potential".
