Sheldon Sheehy begins his first season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Matadors in 2017.
Sheehy comes to CSUN from Pierce College where he was an assistant women's volleyball coach under Nabil Mardini in 2016. The Brahmas finished 30-4 before falling to Fresno City College in the state championship in Sheehy's only season.Â
Prior to Pierce College, he was the head boys and girls volleyball coach at Heritage Christian School in Northridge from 2010-15. Sheehy began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Heritage in 2008.Â
A native of Northridge, Sheehy prepped at Los Angeles Baptist High School where he was an all-league volleyball player in 2003 and 2004 as well as being named league Most Valuable Player in 2004.
He then played club volleyball at UC Irvine where he graduated with his degree in Psychology and Social Behavior in 2008.
A member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), Sheehy and his wife, Kristin have a daughter, Kambria and reside in Reseda, CA.
