Nicolette Pinkney appeared in 14 matches and 23 sets in her first season at CSUN ... played primarily as a defensive specialist finishing the season with six digs (0.26 dps) ... also recorded one assist while serving 28 times ... made her collegiate debut at UNLV (Aug. 29) and recorded one assist while also serving four times ... recorded her first three digs in CSUN's 3-0 win over Alabama State (Sept. 5) in Tucson, Ariz. ... also posted single digs against Cal State Fullerton (Sept. 26), UC Riverside (Oct. 25) and UC Davis (Nov. 22).
GRANITE BAY HIGH SCHOOL
Pinkney earned three varsity letters in volleyball at Granite Bay High School in Granite Bay, Calif. ... was a starter at outside hitter and team captain for coaches Jamie Ingram and Tricia Plummer ... was a two-time first team All-Sierra Foothill League selection in 2012 and 2013 as well as earning Sacramento All-Metro Team and Sacramento All-City Team honors as a senior ... was selected to the Senior Optimist Team in 2014 ... the Grizzlies were Div. I state champions in 2013 with a perfect 45-0 record and were NorCal runners-up in 2012 ... graduated in 2014 with a 3.8 grade point average.

Born August 27, 1996 in Sacramento, Calif. ... parents are Lori and Brett Pinkney ... has one older brother, Nathan who plays water polo at Long Beach City College ... her father attended North Dakota State and her mother attended University of North Dakota ...also played for the Northern California Volleyball Club ... was also recruited by UC Irvine, UC San Diego, Penn and West Point ...favorites include the San Francisco 49ers, pro beach player April Ross, actors Zac Efron, Sandra Bullock, Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig, the TV show "Friends" and the movies "Miracle", "The Heat" and "Pitch Perfect" ... says she chose CSUN because "I loved the campus and the coaching staff" ... says the best thing about being an athlete is "having the team be your second family" and the toughest is the "time management with school and friends" ... says she picked her uniform number because "I have been #12 as long as I can remember, I haven't played a volleyball game without it". Pinkney is majoring in Liberal Studies.
