Women's soccer's senior team captain Nicole Thompson helped lead the Matadors to shutouts of San Jose State and nationally-ranked Pepperdine over the weekend. After anchoring a CSUN defensive unit that held the Spartans off the scoreboard for 110 minutes on Friday, Thompson and the Matadors shutout Pepperdine over 110 minutes of hard-fought action. Making key stops and providing steady leadership at the center back position, Thompson helped CSUN post its fourth and fifth consecutive shutouts. With five-straight shutouts, the Matadors tied a program record for consecutive shutouts in a season. On the year, CSUN has allowed only two goals.
