Erick Loomis, a senior, scored a fourth place finish in the men's weight throw at the UW Invitational, but his distance of 67' 6.25" broke a school record, cementing his spot in the record books. His previous mark of 63-6 ¾ at the MPSF Indoor Championships in 2018 was the second longest in school history, but now Loomis has claimed pole position, breaking Brandon Goldstein’s record which has stood since 2002.
