Bill Cullum was inducted into the CSUN Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012. Cullum served as the legendary head coach of the San Fernando Valley State (CSUN) Men's Golf team for two decades from 1960 to 1986, Cullum_Bill_HOF26

Cullum led the Matadors to three NCAA Division II men's golf championships (1969, 1973, 1974) and finished as national runner-up twice (1971, 1975).

Cullum was named NCAA College Division Coach of the Year in 1969 and NCAA Division II District-8 Coach of the Year in 1970 and 1971. The Matadors won eight California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships under Cullum between 1969 and 1977, and he was named CCAA Golf Coach of the Year every year from 1970 to 1978. Cullum also added the honor of being named NCAA College Division Coach of the Year in 1969.

Cullum was Inducted into the Golf Coaches Association of America Hall of Fame in 1989. He is immortalized by CSUN’s premier annual home golf tournament, renamed the Bill Cullum Invitational in his honor.

Coach Cullum passed away on July 12, 2003, at the age of 74.
