NORTHRIDGE, CA - CSUN's three-match win streak to open the Big West season came to an end Saturday as the Matadors dropped a straight-set decision to Cal Poly 25-14, 25-22, 25-17 in a Big West match at the Mott Athletics Center.

The Matadors (4-12, 3-1 Big West), who won their first road match of the season Friday at UC Santa Barbara, had trouble getting their offense going against the Mustangs. After hitting .360 as a team in three previous conference wins, CSUN was limited to a .142 clip against Cal Poly.

"We simply didn't play well enough tonight," said Matador head coach Jeff Stork. "Cal Poly played a good match, they affected us more than we affected them."

Redshirt freshman Nada Dragovic led CSUN with eight kills (.160) while also recording three digs and one ace. Cieana Stinson and Aeryn Owens each chipped in six kills with Stephanie Serna Arreola adding five kills on eight swings to hit a team-high .625.

Three Matador setters had at least seven assists as Maddie Leiphardt and Erin Indermill had nine and Lauren Conati posted seven. Libero Katie Sato had a match-high 16 digs in the loss.

Cal Poly, which hit .340 as a team, was led by Raeann Greisen who had 14 kills on .433 hitting. Adlee Van Winden added 12 kills for the Mustangs who improved to 10-4 overall and 2-1 in the Big West.

CSUN continues its four-match road trip next weekend as the Matadors travel to Hawai'i on Oct. 9. First serve is scheduled for 10 p.m. PDT.
