Junior Taylor Glover Finishes 3-for-3 with RBI
Glover continued her torrid start to the season and is now 15-for-22 (.682) in her last six games. She had an RBI single in the bottom of the third to score Maylynn Mitchell and has a six-game hitting streak.Â
Wassmer cracked her first double of the season in the bottom of the sixth, scoring Glover and Katie Hooper. Taylor Nate had a single and Savannah Horvath extended her streak of safely reaching base to 11 games to start the season. Defensively, Karlie Habitz caught a pair of Ducks trying to steal.
However, the Oregon offense was able to pile up the runs in Friday's victory. The Ducks scored a run in the first, three in the second and two more in the third. After a quiet fourth and fifth inning, Oregon exploded for eight runs in the sixth to clinch the run-rule victory.Â
In the circle, Taylor Troost (1-3) took the loss after allowing four earned runs with two walks in 1.2 innings of work. Rebecca Bell tossed 4.1 innings of relief work, surrendering five earned runs and three walks. Katie Chenault also saw time in the circle Friday.Â
The Matadors return to action on Saturday, Feb. 27 with a pair of games. At 2:30 p.m., the Matadors face their second-straight Pac-12 opponent in the Utah Utes. Then at 7:30 p.m., CSUN squares off with San Diego State. Both games will be broadcast on FloSoftball.com for a subscription fee.Â
