NORTHRIDGE, Calif.-- Coming off of a 1-0-1 week to open Big West men's soccer play, CSUN continues league play this week. The Matadors begin action Wednesday when CSUN travels to Sacramento State for a 3:30 p.m. kick. Coverage is via Big West TV with all links available on GoMatadors.com.

The Hornets opened Big West play by defeating UC Santa Barbara 1-0 last Wednesday before dropping a 2-0 decision to UC Irvine Saturday night. Sacramento State is 3-7-2 overall. Benji Kikanovic and Dominic Scotti are tied for fifth in the Big West in goals with five. Both are tied for fifth in the league in points with 13.
Sacramento State goalies Nick Kubler (25) and Ryan Curtis (24) are seventh and eighth respectively in the conference in saves. This is the 23rd time in which CSUN and Sacramento State are playing men's soccer. The Matadors lead the all-time series 14-7-1 after CSUN defeated the Hornets 3-2 in overtime in the first round of the Big West Conference Tournament last season.

CSUN heads back home Saturday night when the Matadors host Cal Poly. Coverage on the CSUN Sports Network presented by Dignity Health begins at 7 p.m. Saturday is Breast Cancer Awareness night at Matador Field. Fans will receive Pink Rubber Bracelets and Pink Thunder Sticks when they come through the turnstiles.

CSUN head coach Terry Davila has a chance to become the all-time winningest Matadors' coach this week. Davila tied his former CSUN coach Marwan Ass'ad when he won for the 192nd time Oct. 6 against UC Davis, which was ranked 16th entering the match.
Daniel Trejo continues to lead the Big West Conference in goals as he scored twice last week to raise his season total to 20. The sophomore forward also leads the league in points with 20.
The Matadors are at the top of NCAA Division I in several offensive categories entering the week of Oct. 8. CSUN leads Division I in shot accuracy (.567). CSUN is second in total assists with 33, fifth in points per game (7.36), ninth in total points (81), and 13th in total goals (24).Â
