The Matadors lost a heartbreaker at home last Saturday. The Pilots would go 7-of-7 from 3-point range in the second half to spark their comeback. CSUN nearly erased a late five-point deficit and had a chance to even the game at the free throw line with four seconds to play. However, freshman Lamine Diane went 1-for-2 at the free throw line. The Matadors made one last push in the final seconds, trailing by three, but the Pilots were able to break up a long pass up the court to end the game.
Sophomore Terrell Gomez scored a career-high 25 points and knocked down five 3-pointers to lead the Matadors while Diane registered his first career double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Graduate Cameron Gottfried also had a career night, posting 13 points and seven assists while freshman Michael Ou added a season-best 10 points and six rebounds.
