NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - Noelle Rooke, CSUN's head beach volleyball coach and indoor volleyball assistant coach, was inducted into the Agoura High School Hall of Fame in a ceremony held May 12 at Los Robles Greens in Thousand Oaks.
Rooke, then Noelle Hagenburger, was a three-sport standout for the Chargers in soccer, volleyball and track. Among her many athletic accolades, she was named Offensive MVP (1989-90) and first team All-Frontier League (1988-89, 1989-90) in soccer and Most Valuable Player (1990) and first team All-Frontier League (1988, 1989) as well as first team All-Marmonte League (1990) in volleyball.
Rooke was also a four-year letterwinner as a midfielder and played on two CIF Southern Section 3A Championship soccer teams (1987-88, 1989-90). She also ran the third leg of Agoura's 1,600 meter relay team that won the CIF Southern Section 1A Championship in 1988 and was runner-up in 1989.
She was also a four-year setter for the Chargers' volleyball team, ultimately finishing as the CIF Southern Section 3A runner-up in 1989. Â
She is the first multi-sport athlete inducted into the school's Hall of Fame.
"I am humbled and honored to be inducted into the Agoura High School Athletic Hall of Fame as my high school athletic career was the platform for where athletics has taken me in life," said Rooke.
"I thoroughly enjoyed being a three sport athlete in high school and was blessed to be surrounded by a lot of other female athletes that aided in my many successes on the volleyball court, soccer field and track," she said. "I learned so many valuable lessons from my high school coaches that carried me through my collegiate career and made me want to give back and become a college coach and I am so thankful that athletics has been the pinnacle of my life."
Rooke joined Peter Kurzeka (water polo), Jennifer (Whelchel) Middleton (track & field) and Michelle Smith (softball) in the 2018 Agoura High School inductee class.
