CSUN Comeback Comes Up Short Against Dartmouth

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Four Big Green hits and a CSUN error helped Dartmouth jump out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the first.
- The Big Green added two in the top of the third before scoring three runs in the top of the fourth with two outs.
- Megan Stevens hit her seventh home run of the season to begin the bottom of the fourth for the Matadors. Jaymi Steward smacked her third home run of the season, a two-run blast in the bottom of the fifth.
- Jessica Alexander's double with two outs in the fifth drove in Kira Cauley. Alexander and Mackenzie Babbitt were successful in a double steal later in the fifth that resulted in Alexander taking home for the fifth run.
- A Journey Rojas grounder to short was misplayed by Calista Almer. Babbitt was running on the play and came around and scored to make it 10-6. Stevens cut the lead to one when she hit a three-run home run with two outs in the bottom of the sixth.
- Babbitt led off the bottom of the seventh with a single to left. Babbitt advanced to second on a Shelby Wilkison wild pitch. With the count 1-1, Wilkson was relieved by Heather Turner.
- Rojas reached on Almer's second error of the day as Babbitt made it to third. Alyssa Vazquez lined into a 6-3 double play. Gator Rascon grounded out to Turner out to end the game.
- Taylor Ward went 3-for-4 with six RBI to pace the Big Green. Three other Dartmouth players; Billie McFayden, Micah Schroeder, and Tatyanah Castillo each tallied three hits. The Big Green broke a 12-game losing streak.
- Babbitt was 3-for-4 to lead CSUN. Rascon and Cauley would record two hits for the Matadors. Stevens's 2-home run game is her second of the season, and the third of her career.

- "We did some things well and battled to get back into at the end. But we have to take care of the ball and make adjustments at the plate sooner. Megan is seeing the ball very well. She is being aggressive at the plate and jumping on misses. She is not doing too much and is letting the ball come to her."
