- The game was scoreless through the first four innings. For the third consecutive inning Fresno State put a runner into scoring position when Kelcey Carrasco doubled to lead off the Bulldogs' fifth. Pinch hitter Emily Brodner failed to sacrifice the runner over as she popped out to third.
- Kenedee Jamerson relieved Jillian James to face McKenzie Wilson. Pinch runner Aaliyah Cuevas advanced to third on a Jamerson wild pitch. Wilson would work out a walk to bring up Miranda Rohleder.

Rohleder grounded out to third as Alyssa Vazquez looked Wilson back to the base. Wilson would end up being thrown out at third after trying to advance on a ball in the dirt.
