NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - CSUN Men's Volleyball head coach Jeff Campbell has announced the signing of three student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to play for the Matadors.
The incoming class includes Olumide Allen, Anthony Hahn and Jeffrey Hanmer.
Allen is a 6-4 middle from Eastlake High School in Chula Vista, Calif. Heading into his senior year in 2020, he has lettered the past three years for the Mustangs' volleyball team. A two-year starter at middle blocker, Allen earned first team All-Mesa League honors as a junior in 2019 and was awarded second team all-league accolades as a sophomore. The Titans won the Mesa League championship under coach Alex Garibay in 2019.Â
"Olumide is an excellent athlete that has a ton of potential moving forward," said Campbell. "He's a hard worker and is very explosive with a great arm swing. He also has the ability to hit the ball in a variety of ways and we really like him moving forward."
Hahn is a local product from nearby Newbury Park High School. The 6-7 middle blocker was a three-year starter for the Panthers and coach Jorge Ostrovsky. He was part of Marmonte League championship teams in 2018 and 2019 and was named Most Improved Player following the 2019 season.
"Tony is a big strong middle who also has a ton of upside," said Campbell. "He's a local kid from Newbury Park;Â we're looking for improvement over time and for Tony to really grow in our program."
Hanmer is a 6-5 setter from Paloma Valley High School in Menifee, Calif. Heading into his senior year in 2021, he has 975 career assists in two seasons playing for the Wildcats' varsity squad. Hammer averaged 8.1 assists per set as a sophomore in 2019 and 7.6 assists per set in the abbreviated 2020 season. He also averaged 2.1 blocks, 1.7 digs and 0.7 service aces per set in his two varsity seasons.
"Jeffrey is the type of player that is the first one in the gym and the last one to leave," said Campbell. "He is such a tough competitor and a very hard worker. He always elevates his level of play and has been a winner at every level. We're excited to have him in our program."
