Douphner, Mason Represent USA Volleyball U23 at Pan Am Cup

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - CSUNÂ Men's Volleyball has two representatives on USA Volleyball's 2026 Men's U23 team for the upcoming NORCECA U23 Pan American Cup.
Junior setter Owen Douphner and assistant coach Ryan Mason will be part of the USA contingent for the tournament scheduled for Sept. 20–28 in San Salvador, El Salvador.
Douphner is one of 14 athletes selected to the U23 National Team. The team was chosen after a training block at the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs in early September. Douphner, one of two setters on the roster, will make his USA Volleyball National Team debut at the tournament.
Mason, who will assist head coach Nickie Sanlin (McKendree University head coach), joins former CSUN Men's Volleyball players Ali'i Keohohou (Menlo head coach) on the coaching staff.
"I am incredibly honored and excited to be representing our country with the U23 Men's National team," Mason said. "This process has been humbling, and I owe a lot of this success to Theo Edwards and the amazing coaches on staff as well as our amazing players here. I would also like to thank my friends and family for their love and support for my whole career.
"To have this opportunity to work with Nickie Sanlin and Ali'i Keohohou as well as the amazing support staff that USA volleyball has is exciting," Mason added. "I have already learned so much from them and I can't wait to continue to do so. I couldn't be more thrilled to see Owen earn this opportunity. He is incredibly hard-working and an even better person. I look forward to seeing him compete in this tournament and to see what he takes with him back to CSUN for this upcoming season."
USA opens up the tournament against Guatemala on Sept. 22, before taking on the host country El Salvador on Sept, 24. The USA finishes pool play against Granada on Sept. 25. The quarterfinals, 9/26 is the semifinals, and 9/27 is the Championship.
"I am excited to see us rise to the challenge and hopefully win the pool which will put us straight into the semifinals," Mason added.
