The CSUN Under Armour Faculty are a group of professors and lecturers committed to assisting student-athletes in their academic success and professional development. The group was started in 2016 by Professor and Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) Ed Jackiewicz and has since grown to nearly 30 faculty members from various majors across campus.
Over the past few years, this group has assisted students through workshops, panel discussions, game attendance and one-on-one conversations. They are here to help you, the students. In the coming months, GoMatadors.com will introduce you to the various members of CSUN's UA Faculty.

I grew up and went to college in the Southeast "triangle" – Georgia, Florida, Alabama. I received both my graduate degrees and previously taught at Georgia State University. Growing up, I was not very athletic, preferring my art classes and reading. I started practicing yoga about six years ago, and it's remained a huge passion, but I was still an indoor person.

I fell in love with SoCal and CSUN from the minute I moved here, the weather and landscape still surprise me. You can go skiing and surfing in the same day! Since arriving here in 2018, my family and I have become avid hikers (the views!) and have gotten into bouldering and want to learn rock climbing. Joshua Tree is my favorite place in the world. Surfing is a future plan also!Â

Everyone is so active in California and it's really been encouraging and motivated me to get more physical too.

That's why I am so excited to be a part of the CSUN Under Armour Faculty. The students at CSUN really impress me, they skate and bike all over campus, even with their art supplies. I love being able to take my students outside on a beautiful day to photograph the campus and seeing their landscape projects of the mountains and beaches. Â
