CSUN Travels To Hawai'i Thursday; Hosts UCSB Saturday

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—CSUN returns to the women's basketball hardwood this week with a game at Hawai'i before returning home to take on UC Santa Barbara.

The Matadors (9-13, 4-4 Big West) travel to Honolulu Thursday for a 9 p.m. PT/7 p.m. HT start. The game will be streamed on BigWest.TV with a link on GoMatadors.com.

Hawai'i has won five in a row to improve to 7-3 in the Big West which places the Rainbow Wahine in second-place in the league. Hawai'i is 13-10 overall. Julissa Tago, who has taken home Big West Player of the Week honors in two of the past three weeks, is fifth in the league in scoring (14.5). She leads the Big West in made three-pointers with 51. The Matadors opened Big West play with a 58-54 victory over the Rainbow Wahine. CSUN leads the all-time series 11-10.

In a scheduling quirk, Saturday's matchup against UC Santa Barbara is the first of back-to-back games against the Gauchos as CSUN travels to UCSB next Thursday. The first 200 fans attending Saturday's game will receive a CSUN Pink T-shirt as the Matadors will host UCSB in the annual Play for Kay game. David Gascon's pregame show begins at 6:50 p.m. before tipoff at 7 p.m. on BigWest.tv. All links will be available on GoMatadors.com.

Ila Lane was named Big West Player of the Week Feb. 10 after averaging 22.5 points and 17.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week. She scored 25 points and had 20 rebounds in the win over UC Irvine. Lane leads the nation in total rebounds (286), and ranks second in rebounds per game (13.0) and tied for No. 10 in double-doubles (13). She leads the conference in field goal percentage (56.6) and is sixth in scoring (14.4). This is the 66th meeting between CSUN and UC Santa Barbara with the Gauchos leading the all-time series 45-20.

CSUN is coming off a 67-62 loss to UC Riverside last Thursday night. Jordyn Jackson reset her career high with 28 points. She went 10-of-21 from the field with a career best five three-pointers. Deja Williams added 16 points and five assists for the Matadors.
