LAHAINA, Hawai'i - Freshman Nick Fowlkes followed up an opening-round five-under-par 66 with a second round 65 to move into a tie for second at 11-under 131 while the CSUN Men's Golf team moved into third-place Saturday at the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate at Ka'anapali Golf Course.
Fowlkes and Loyola-Maryland's Brandon Berry are both tied for second, one shot back of Denver's Carson Griggs who leads at 12-under 130. Fowlkes posted two eagles, which included a hole out from the fairway on No. 13, five birdies and eight pars to finish his round at six-under 65. As a team, CSUN moved up four spots on the team leaderboard after tying its single round record at 15-under today which is a record going back 31 years.

COACH JIM BRACKEN SAID
"Nick, Felix and Blake all played very well today. Both Nick and Felix shot 66 today which is great. Nick has posted three consecutive rounds in the mid-60's and he has a really good demeanor out on the course - laid back and just really enjoys playing golf. Felix is a great ball striker – he made 17 greens in regulation today and even with that, he said to me that he feels like he missed some putts and could have done better."
CSUN will be paired with Colorado, Kansas and Connecticut for Sunday's final round which will tee off with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. local time.
