NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—The CSUN Women's Basketball team returns to action Wednesday afternoon when the Matadors (3-5) travel to USC. Play begins at Noon with USC providing a live stream via Pac-12.com. All links will be available on GoMatadors.com.

USC returns to the floor for the first time in 10 days after falling 78-63 to San Francisco at home on Dec. 5. The Women of Troy are 5-3 this season. After a stint in the NBA as an assistant coach with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Lindsey Gottlieb is in her first season as head coach at USC. CSUN's interim head coach Carlene Mitchell replaced Gottlieb at UC Santa Barbara when Gottlieb took the head coaching position at Cal, her position before moving to the NBA.

Three players are averaging in double figures for the Women of Troy, led by Jordan Sanders who is scoring 12.8 points per game. Jordyn Jenkins is averaging 11.4 points per game while Rayah Marshall is scoring 10.0 points per game and is leading the team in rebounding at 6.9 per game. This will be the 31st time that CSUN and USC are playing women's basketball with the Women of Troy leading the all-time series 19-11.

CSUN dropped an 80-62 decision to the University of Portland last Thursday night in Portland. Tess Amundsen led the Matadors in scoring with 15 points. Michelle Duchemin charted nine points. Kayanna Spriggs also posted nine points and was one of three Matadors with a team-high six rebounds (along with Anaiyah Tu'ua and Meghann Henderson).

CSUN begins the week second in the Big West and 62nd in Division I in steals per game (10.1). The 81 steals that the Matadors have posted are 108th in Division I. Tu'ua and Sydney Woodley are leading the team in steals with 18. Both are ranked 104th in steals per game in Division I in the category this week. CSUN has forced 138 turnovers this season. Matador opponents have turned the ball over at least 15 times in seven of the eight CSUN games this season.
