Foster Hires WNBA Vet Mann As An Assistant Coach

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—CSUN interim women's basketball coach Lindsey Foster has announced the addition of Kristen Mann to the Matadors' coaching staff.
"I am excited about joining the staff under Coach Foster," Mann said. "I'm looking forward to bringing my 15+ years of professional experience to the program and hopefully help in any way that I can."
Mann is no stranger to the Big West as she is a 2005 graduate of UC Santa Barbara. Mann led the Gauchos to Mann was selected first-team All-Conference three times (2003-05) after being named Big West Freshman of the Year in 2002. A three-time All-American, Mann was selected 2005 Big West Player of the Year and the 2005 Big West Tournament MVP. In the summer of 2003, Mann helped Team USA win a gold medal at the inaugural FIBA World Championship for Young Women in Sibenik, Croatia.
She was also selected to the Big West Tournament team in 2003 and 2004. Her UC Santa Barbara teams made four appearances in the NCAA Tournament including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2004. Mann was named All-American three times. She finished her UCSB career third in career scoring and is currently 20th in Big West history in career points with 1,700.
Upon graduation, Mann was taken in the first round of the 2005 WNBA Draft (11th overall) by the Minnesota Lynx. She was a member of the USA Basketball Women's Senior National Team during its 2006 Spring Tour. Mann would end up playing for five seasons in the WNBA with the Lynx (2005-07, 09), Atlanta Dream (2008), Indiana Fever (2008), and the Washington Mystics (2009). The 6-2 forward was a member of the Seattle Storm during the 2015 WNBA Training Camp.
Mann has competed in some of the top professional women's basketball leagues around the world. She began her international career in 2005 with Zaragoza Mann Filter (Spain). From 2006-07, Mann played in Turkey for Mersin Büyüksehir Belediye. She moved in 2007 to Tarbes GB in France where she competed for two seasons.
2009 saw Mann move to SK Cesis in Latvia for one campaign. Mann moved back to France for the next four seasons where she competed for FCB Charleville Ardennes, BLMA Lattes Montpellier, and TMB Toulouse Metropole Basket. In 2011, Mann was selected as one of the "Legends of the Dome", UCSB's home court.
During the 2015-16 season, Mann played for CAB Madeira in Portugal and TTT Riga in Latvia. Mann returned to France again in 2016 for a season with BLMA Lattes Montpellier. The Santa Ana, Calif. native played for La Roche Vendee (France) in 2017. Mann concluded her playing career in France, playing the last three seasons for USOM Mondeville, CBBS Charnay, and Tange Bourges Basket.
