CSUN Travels to UC Santa Barbara Tuesday Night

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.-- The CSUN Women's Basketball team (6-9, 2-3 Big West) completes a three-game road trip Tuesday night when CSUN travels to UC Santa Barbara Saturday for a 7 p.m. tip. The game will be available on ESPN+ with links on GoMatadors.com.

UC Santa Barbara dropped a pair of games last week to UC Davis and UC Riverside and enter play with an 8-6 overall record, 2-3 in the Big West. Three Gauchos average in double figures, led by Danae Miller who is averaging 11.8 points per game. Ila Lane is scoring 11.4 points per gamer while Alexis Tucker is averaging 10.3 points per game.

Lane is the conference leader in rebounding (9.1). Tucker is fourth in the conference in free throw shooting (77.8). Miller is sixth in made field goals per game (1.6), eighth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.3), and ninth in assists (3.1). Tuesday is the 48th time that CSUN and UC Santa Barbara are playing women's basketball with the Gauchos leading the all-time series 47-20.

Despite playing well on the defensive end of the floor, the Matadors dropped a pair of games at UC Riverside (59-41) and UC Davis (48-41) last week. CSUN held its opponents last week to 30.9% field goal shooting (34-110) and 25.9% (14-54) from three-point range. CSUN made 15 steals on the week and forced 27 turnovers. The 48 points the Matadors allowed to UC Davis was the fewest the Aggies scored against CSUN since Mar. 12, 2013, when the Matadors defeated the Aggies 61-40.

Sydney Woodley begins this week 15th in Division I in steals per game (2.9). Woodley is 33rd in Division I in steals (44). CSUN is second in the Big West and 23rd in Division I in steals per game (11.0). The 165 steals that the Matadors have posted are 66th in Division I. CSUN begins the week 104th in Division I in turnover margin (1.93) and 115th in turnovers forced per game (17.8).

Meghann Henderson surpassed the 3,000 career minute plateau at UC Davis and is now eighth in school history in career minutes played with 3,003. She has moved to eighth in school history in career assists with 284.
